Watch Out Cambodia!
So a week from today I said goodbye to my best friend Laura Bayles because she left to CAMBODIA on her mission!! I was lucky enough to work in the MTC and see her a few times a week and it was just the best! Last I talked to her she was so excited to get to Cambodia and share the gospel message to so many willing to hear it. She has been the greatest example and I'm so excited that I will be somewhat close to her when I'm in China :) haha

OOOHH the Madness!
It's that time of year folks...the time when the sun begins to shine, the time when the birds start singing again, the time that my family talks daily only to talk smack to each other about our brackets. Yep, the madness has officially begun. My only problem is I went into this competition already feeling less confident. That can never be a good sign. The results aren't looking swell for me right now but hopefully I'll pull through in the end ;). It is pretty pathetic that my fake bracket that I messed around on is beating my legit one. Oh well, it's all fun and games right? Not right. I'm in it to win it!!!! Ok, not really, but come on, who doesn't like bragging rights? Well, I'm just glad BYU made it through the first round. Well, happy St. Patrick's Day and Merry Madness to you all!

Own It
Ok, so I'm in this weird stage in my life right now. I want to be out of Provo, everyone else wants me out of Provo, but I'm stuck. I still have two months to kill. But if I think of it in terms like that, I'd be living in the future and not now. That has been one of my goals these last few months: living in the now. My physiology professor said something a few days ago that I absolutely loved and definitely needed to hear. It was this small phrase, "If you aren't happy now, you'll never be happy." So simple yet so powerful, and so very very true. Often times we wait for those wonderful things to happen in the future and get so caught up in it all that we miss the amazing things happening in our lives right now. I would write a list of things that make me happy right now but I'll save that for another blog post.
BUT, I'll share one thing that has recently made me happy and that's owning it. Owning whatever I got! Like I said, I'm in this weird stage in my life and I have this mindset that I'll be off in China soon and I prob won't see half the people I do now ever again which leads to me saying, doing, singing, eating, (all of the above) weird things. Most people say that I will probably still see most of these people again, but it makes me feel good when I think otherwise. And if I do see them again....well, they have now seen my true colors. But isn't that how it's supposed to be anyway?

I thought I'd add a picture because a lot people that read blogs really only look at them for the pictures. so here's to you 'picture only' folk. one of my best mulan looks i must say |

HONG KONG
HONG KONG! |
Well, I'm pretty sure the 3 of you that are reading this already know that I'm going to China on my mission! I'm getting more and more excited and although I know squat about it I want to share a few pictures to get you all pumped too! I talked to a friend about it and boy will it be an adventure! He said he always taught at random parks, buildings, and even McDonald's! hahaha I guess wherever you can get someone to listen right? The language is crazy too! I've learned a few phrases but often forget them. It's all good though haha so here are some bomb pictures of where I'll be spending the next year and a half of my life!!
Hello city and lights! You can't tell me that this is not completely epic. |
Don't know what this is but it looks pretty! |
Here's some Hong Kong food! I'd be lying if I told you I was excited for the food there. It's ok though, I'll still try everything ;) |
um, yum! |

Let's take a look at 2010
So I decided to copy many of my fellow friends/bloggers and do an overview of the fabulous year of 2010. And let me tell ya...it was a good one!
So apparently I never take pictures but this was a trip that Laura, Kelsey and I took to Boston to visit Tara before she moved back to the west coast! Prob one of the best trips EVER. Why might you ask? Some of these pictures might be able to answer that question.....
we enjoyed the lovely weather, beautiful park, self-timer, and the squirrels
Tara's camera did this really cool self-timer that would take a few pictures in a row. we became obsessed. |
ok if you look closely you'll see our little friend in the background...no not the body by the tree...the thing about to prance on him. |
5 dollar fenway franks! almost worth the cost! haha |
probably one of my most favorite candid shots. |
we are girls. we take jumping pictures. |
kels was never born to be a ninja. it's ok, we still love her. |
we went on a romantic boston harbor sunset cruise.... |
I loved this trip because we were able to just roam around the boston town and enjoy being together. it was awesome!
Now here comes spring and summer. Best semesters ever!!
applebee's kareoke night was a must |
ultimate frisbee intramural champions! |
amazing ward and super fun activities! |
the awesome hike to squaw peak. |
my fam went to park city for the fourth and we went bobsledding! ya mahn |
we said our farewells to king sky |
almost died a couple of times at lake meed. but it was all worth it of course |
We took a trip to Oregon to help move Greg, Aubs, and Ty! |
First football game of the season with Spang and Suh Dawg. |
we heard about getting free frozen yogurt for a year so we waited in line from 4 pm to 10 am |
So halloween came a rollin' and we've been something good every year. I wasn't sure we would pull it off but boy was I wrong. Some say they had the best costume of the year but I say theirs was a close second to what you are about to see next.....
There's them beauts! We've got Eunice, Beverly, Dottie, and Marge. |
Who's your granny!? |
And we ended the year with a shibang!
Over Christmas break we took an amazing trip to hawaii! |
Chig gave her farewell and she's now on her mission! (Cambodia, vietnamese speaking) |
kelsey woods got married! (along with brit and tara but i didn't have any pics from that) |

No, I'm not having a baby....BUT my sister in law Marilyn just had Emery Rose Kiene today!! I'm an aunt for the third time and loving it! Even though I hardly EVER get to see my nieces and nephew :( But anyway, I thought I would share the joy and happiness I'm feeling right now. And on top of that, it's a warm beautiful day today! I'll try putting up pics soon of my new baby girl. Peace and blessings.
